IPU parliamentary meeting on the occasion of the UN General Assembly 2025

On 24 September 2025, the IPU will convene an event for all parliamentarians travelling to New York as part of their national (governmental) delegation attending the opening High-Level Week of the 80th General Assembly of the United Nations. 

The parliamentary event will be held from 09:00 to 12:00 at the Church Center for the United Nations, and focus on parliamentary engagement to advance issues related to gender equality and in support of the IPU campaign Achieving gender equality, action by action.

This parliamentary meeting will serve to mark both the 30th anniversary of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action – the global framework for gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls – and 25 years since the Security Council adopted the first in a series of resolutions on Women, Peace and Security (WPS). 

The languages of the event are English and French.
